WAX ON WEDNESDAYS: (Hip Hop) – “METHOD MAN (RMX)” (WU-TANG)
(This is the record I lost in a cab last week…Shout to DJ RIZ (crooklyn clan)
Welcome back to Wax on Wednesdays. Today’s wax is extra waxxy… I have this crazy remix to “Method Man” (M.E.T.H.O.D. MAN) that I never really hear anyone play. I call it the west coast remix cause it has that “funky west coast” feel to it, even though it’s called “Crazy C’s Suthun Fried Mix”. I only have one copy of this record, and have never really seen any other ones, except for the ones DJ RIZ used to cut up when I was an intern at his WBAU college radio show….. Oh the good ol’ days when LOUD RECORDS was the shit, and almost everything that came out was fire. I just have to accept it and stick to filling in on the “Throwback at Noon” and just nerd it out on my blog, and try to hold on to the memories. Enjoy the WAX and have a safe and happy “Indian Slaughter Day”……

Wow..Ciph good looks – never knew this existed besides the RZA Remix – and nuff respect to DJ Riz. Crooklyn Clan are legends in the game (I know he’s always on tour but if you guys could get him in for Juan Ep. that would be legendary) I would love to get the stories behind how some of the best remixes were made and crowd reaction when first dropped in spots like the Tunnel.

Thank you for putting these up. Here’s an idea, instead of the trivia section on your show you should have a bpm battle. like you did on that one juan ep, have someone name a record and you say the bpm. That was fun. I know this is only fun for djs, maybe for another juan ep.
