On the gay issue and the church, it cracks me up how the bible says in many places how homosexuality is not right and it says homosexuals won’t inherit the land of the lord (go to heaven), but some churches still think it is alright. I guess they only believe in parts of the bible.
As far as I am concerned I have no issue with gay people, but their live style goes against what the bible says and thats what matters at the end of the day (Thats if you believe in the bible) like myself..

Sin is just us telling GOD that our way is better.
Prop 8 makes it CLEAR in the California Constitution that marriage SHOULD be between ONLY a Man and a Woman.
While most of California wanted change, (the Obama Landslide) most of California (demographically) are NOT ready to re-define marriage, what happened in May was a clear abuse of supreme court power, when “we the people” already made it clear with Prop 22 by a 64% majority that we did not want marriage re-defined – 4 (count them) 4 Judges thought that 64% must be on crack because they chose to override and decide otherwise.
“in the eyes of the government” ???
We have government because it was BIBLICAL (structure, organization. all that). Where you think it comes from?
WHERE are we allowed to draw the line of right and wrong?
Our Nation, & Government were built on BIBLICAL principals, so now it’s ok to “bend the rules”? We live in a day that calls evil “good” and good “evil”. In the next few years, as the lawsuits work their way up to the Supreme Court we will encounter a major conflict of interests between the 1st Amendment “Free Exercise” of religion clause and the made up rights of the homosexuals. The First Amendment won’t stand a chance. Churches that refuse to support the homosexuals will have their tax exempt status revoked and be sued. Para church organizations and ministries- likewise. The pro-gay (not to be confused with those who just don’t care) agenda will say it’s a HATE crime to refuse “basic rights” to those who are living a lifestyle that is not in line with the principals that built this country to begin with. Those who seek to justify their homosexual behavior resort to the principle of “love” and try to show that they are born homosexual and that it is the loving thing to do to allow homosexual marriage.
You know, 10-15 years ago, I was just like both of you, an Art-school goin Free-love-to-all-who-cares-what-you-do-just-don’t-do-it-in-my-backyard-type of guy. But once you have some seeds, your whole perspective changes, the same GUT-Reflex that would motovate you to protect your own child from ANY kind of harm, is the same motovation the “Yes on 8″ folks are comin from – it’s not love to allow your fellow man to continue in sin. the same love that makes you dicipline your child into correction, is my same movovation in this post.
end of rant.
stepping down from soap box.

my beef is with the fake campaign that was promoted in the media about how education will be changed to teach school children about being gay. this is was obviously a sham.
the people of California were bamboozled by a false campaign. also, the language used in Prop 8 is just fishy to me. it’s surprises me that this Prop got passed…the language in there is going to infringe on some rights that even Conservatives would protect. the LA Times had a breakdown of the demographics of the voters: check it, in Counties where 25% or more of the population is Latinos, it passed. Poor counties, it passed. Rich counties and highly educated counties it did not pass. Coastal cities, did not pass. Farmland, pass. Subsequently…the Farmland? Lots of Latinos live in these parts…and these counties have lower education and are poor.

@Regend:
The LA Times will also have you believing that the reason Prop 8 passed was because of the record number Black “Obama” supporters… ‘cmon man.
and i quote: (LATimes) “African American voters played a crucial role in the outcome. An exit poll of California voters showed that black voters sided in favor of the measure by margins of more than 2 to 1. Not only was the black vote weighted heavily in favor of Proposition 8, but black turnout — spurred by Barack Obama’s campaign for president — was unusually large, making up roughly 10% of the voters”
