HOW TO MAKE A MILLI IN 60 SECONDS OR LESS

Here’s how underground hip hop is still relevant today…. Here is a clip of where the “Milli” sample from Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” came from. Its a crazy rare remix of “I left my wallet in el segundo” by A Tribe Called Quest. Keep Hip-Hop Alive.

  1. damn thats crazy

  2. Incredible. That is absolutely incredible. How did this guy track the sample down? Did Bangladesh reveal that somewhere on the net?

Furthermore, will Phife, Tip and Ali ask for some residuals? I doubt it , but it’s funny to think about in light of the whole Alchemist/Mister Cee incident with Jadakiss’ “We Gon’ Make It.”

  3. for the other DJs, that don’t have that remix…

I had it off a Import Remix CD from the first album from when I was in middle school. Enjoy!

  4. That shits crrrazy… I have that remix at home but I wanted to hear it right now, so I yanked it off of imeem.

  5. I got this on Vinyl, but it skips… thank you Franchise for the drop

  6. dude your fucking so materialistic cipha sounds…eat a fuckin dick…post something about how to be a good hearted person….or some shit….your a fuckin money hungry clown…your love for money will get you nowehere but sleepless nights…

  7. Tribe + Remix = Money

  8. When will someone knock this kid down a peg, first attacking the whole mixtape Dj’s now sampling Tribe, oh the shame.

  9. Prime example that hip hop lives!!!! All you thugged out niggaz recognize the power of hip hop……who would have thought Tribe would be responsible for Wayne’s hottest song!!!!!

  10. sad part is no one that buys wayne’s music could tell you what tribe is, the 12 yr olds think swizz beats invented the term C.r.e.a.m.

sad world we live in. we may recognize it but recognize who the consumers are and understand they were born post golden era

  11. That’s a gem of a find by Bangladesh – and props to the uploader for tracking this down and Franchise for the linx..at least the Shabba rumors can finally be put to rest

  12. I bought that single and was so diappointed by that remix which makes it crazy to see it being put to good use – worth the 18 yr wait!

By the way, Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) did that remix if anyone cares about that. It was the era when good hip hop records were bundled with wack UK remixes for the us British folk.

  13. [...] försöka ta tid liv pga tristess. Är du en riktig jävla hiphop nörd och redan sett klippet hos Chipa Sounds så känner jag med dej, för det här är helt onödig info tom för töntar som oss. Är du inte [...]

  14. Big up to Cyph for the well thought out comment about the lack of appreciation for underground hip hop..hip hop period. BTW…still waiting for Cyph to come through my shop to pick up some kicks. But seriously, it is shocking and totally apalling that in this day in time, people consider Lil Wayne the dopest alive. This is blasphemous to say the least, what happened to the days that talent was necessary to have a deal and be considered to be a great. It’s funny how Wayne has been out for almost a decade and it has taken this long for him to be considered a great…when you had artists like Nas and Jay being considered legends with just one album…f*ck radio airplay and this wack mc’s who can’t even compare to the drool of a Rakim,KRS or Kane…wake the f*ck up people!

  15. Dialect spoken, in sectional lesson
The less you know, the more you gotta guess on
I press on point, some sweat my jizznoint
Playin themselves with the fingers the point
I speak slow, I carry a fat stick
Get your kneepads and reapply your chapstick
Step to this, as the Derelict reanimates
No jim hat as my mouth ejaculates
I stays mumble, I speaks jumble
Phonetics on phonograph’ll prime your petrol
Retroactive, my knot scale is tipped off
I rip the head off, the Derelict stepped off
and left to show this, to those who typecast
Ill the rhyme-ass trickster or outcast
of intellect, I wreck shit with my own sect
The ace in the hole, I’m the Derelict of Dialect

  27. LOL I Now Understand Why Busta Rhymes Called Him The Greatest Producer Out

  28. [...] First song is from an album of A Tribe Called Quest remixes called Revised Quest for the Seasoned Traveler which came out back in 1992.  The song is called “I Left My Wallet In El Segundo (Vampire Mix)” and the album gives credit to Norman Cook for the remixing.  That’s Fatboy Slim’s real name, so this remix of I Left my Wallet in El Segundo was made by Fatboy Slim before he became Fatboy Slim.  Coincidentally, after getting the first email most of you didn’t get, Eric showed me a blog he saw earlier this week that points out the fact that this remix was sampled by Bangladesh to make the “A Milli” beat for Lil Wayne.  Here’s the link he showed me: http://dontgetgassed.com/2008/07/16/how-to-make-a-milli-in-60-secs-or-less/.
